March Goals and Events!
Back in 2024 I began blogging each month my goals and updates on how the goals from the month before were going. This not only kept me on track, but, from what I'm told, it inspired others to do something like it. I figured that doing this in 2025 would be a good idea too. So, why not begin in March after we've finally found ourselves coming out of a dark Winter. To be honest, Winter wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Which is saying something considered this is my first living in the midwest. The cold kept me inside more, but that's the beauty of welcoming Spring into my life in the next month or so. The freshness, the beauty, the brightness. It'll all be there waiting. Let's talk goals and what I'll be working on this month.
MARCH GOALS:
1. SPRING CLEAN- It's that time of year when we pull out the bins and start going through things that no longer "fit us". For March and Spring Cleaning 2025, I'll be cleaning more than just my house. Spring Cleaning is a time to sort through the mess and feel better about the brightness entering our lives. I will be sharing a MASTER LIST for Cleaning or as my friend Tracey calls it, "It needs to be Sarah Clean..." based off a FRIENDS reference. Anyway, laugh. It's funny. Anyway, I will be sharing that list with my newsletter subscribers later this month for the first official (I said this before, but this time I mean it) quarterly newsletter. Sign up link is at the end of this blog post! Join me...and let's get our lives...Sarah Cleaned :)
2. ROAD TRIP- At some point this month I'll be hitting the road to travel to an undisclosed location to explore a new town that I hope will inspire my next book setting. This small town I chose is out West and requires me to drive for two days, basically. I was going to fly, but as someone who never really enjoyed flying...the recent events have me not wanting to step foot in an airport. So, on the road I'll go. Road trips are fun though and I'm busy this next week setting up my road trip playlist. If you have any song suggestions or podcasts, comment and let me know! I hope to share some pictures to my newsletter subscribers. So be sure to sign up!
3. NAMES- Writing wise I will be working on settling on main character names, a town name, and some other factors. During my trip I mentioned above I'll be taking my novel plotting book that helps me outline and begin the early stages of sorting out this new book. I am so excited about this part. It's time to get the next one ready. Ideally, I'd love to have a release for 2026, but as of right now that is a dream to work towards.
4. BACK TO SCHOOL- On March 10th, 2025 I'll begin my Master's degree courses towards my Teaching Degree/Licensing. I'm happy to report that I found a legit school and program here in MN that I can do online that if all goes well I will be student teaching Fall 2026! Exciting right? This dream of mine to be an elementary school teacher is finally coming true. Having a Masters in Teaching will open numerous doors regardless if teaching in the classroom works out for me. Though, being in my own classroom is the initial goal.
Events:
I have a couple of events I am working towards this year. There is a Wine and Walk being hosted in our town. A fellow author neighbor invited me and connected me with the director. I have my own spot in a local business (a bakery), and I ordered an additional 10 copies of Chasing Time so by July I'll have plenty on hand. I will be planning for that in April.
I'm also planning to reach out to do a pop up book signing at a local shop here soon.
There's a big craft vendor fair in August here in town that I hope to secure a spot in before the month is up.
That's it for me this time! Let's set those goals and come out of this Winter season refreshed, yeah?
